BC Hydro is proposing to build 500 kV transmission lines and associated infrastructure from Prince George to Terrace through two phases:
Phase 1: Prince George to Glenannan Transmission
Phase 2: Glenannan to Terrace Transmission
Additional infrastructure for both phases includes fibre optic cable installed on new or existing transmission structures, capacitor station expansion, and substation upgrades or expansion.

Cost recovery: The BCER can recover the costs associated with the regulatory oversight of renewable energy projects through fees and levies. Prior to the implementation of levies, the BCER recovered costs by issuing certificates. The BCER issued the following certificates to recover costs for its work related to the oversight of NCTL:
Permits for natural gas pipelines, LNG facilities, renewable (wind and solar), and transmission line projects are required before construction can start. Applications go through a thorough permitting process, described in our Review Applications page. Approvals, issued under the Energy Resource Activities Act (ERAA), contain specific conditions and requirements that proponents must meet to be in compliance with BCER permits.
