Ksi Lisims LNG is a proposed floating liquefied natural gas (LNG) export facility. The project is led by Nisga’a Nation, Rockies LNG Limited Partnership and Western LNG LLC to jointly develop the LNG facility and marine terminal. Located on Pearse Island, it would have a capacity of 12 million tonnes of LNG per year. Two floating LNG structures would receive up to 2 billion cubic feet per day of natural gas. The facility would also have a storage capacity of 490,000 cubic meters of LNG.
Compliance and Enforcement
Throughout construction and the project lifecycle, the BCER conducts regular inspections to verify compliance with regulatory requirements. Inspection frequency depends on the pace and type of construction or operational activity occurring at the time. Project-specific inspection records are available here. Additional Compliance and Enforcement documents are available here.
Permits for natural gas pipelines, LNG facilities, renewable (wind and solar), and transmission line projects are required before construction can start. Applications go through a thorough permitting process, described in our Review Applications page. Approvals, issued under the Energy Resource Activities Act (ERAA), contain specific conditions and requirements that proponents must meet to be in compliance with BCER permits.
There are various types of permits issued by the BC Energy Regulator for major projects, throughout the different phases of design and construction. Permits that have been issued to date for a particular project can be viewed below.
