The Treaty 8-BCER Restoration Advisory Committee (RAC) is a collaborative group of representatives from Treaty 8 First Nations and the BC Energy Regulator (BCER), working together on environmental restoration initiatives related to energy resource activities in northeast B.C. Its purpose is to embed Indigenous perspectives, cultural values and practical expertise in restoration work — to foster ecological health, uphold treaty rights and sustain Indigenous ways of life for future generations.

The Treaty 8-BCER RAC started in 2020 with a vision of coming together around a collective goal to restore the land in culturally appropriate ways. Since then, the group has formed strong relationships and meets monthly, continuing to grow collective knowledge and learn from each other.
Aims
Through this work, the RAC seeks to:
- Advance inclusive and culturally grounded restoration approaches
- Deliver restoration solutions across northeast B.C.
- Strengthen transparency, accountability and efficient use of resources
