DATE ISSUED: June 25, 2026

EFFECTIVE DATE: Immediately

The BC Energy Regulator (BCER) has updated the Site Remediation and Reclamation Manual and renamed it to the Site Remediation and Restoration Manual. The updated manual provides additional clarity about the site assessment process, including the assessment process for dormant pipelines, remediation of reported spills, groundwater investigation guidance, assessment of drilling waste disposal areas, site summary reporting and other related information.

These updates will help ensure more consistent and effective remediation and restoration work across B.C., supporting stronger environmental protection outcomes.

The manual revisions align with the recent amendments to the online submission forms.
