The BC Energy Regulator (Regulator) is advising industry the International Well Control Forum (IWCF) and International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) are now recognized as well control training providers, along with Energy Safety Canada (ESC).
The Oil and Gas Activity Operations Manual has been updated to reflect these changes. Please refer to sections 8.3.7 and 9.6.14 of the manual for detailed information.
It is the permit holders’ responsibility to ensure when personnel with certificates from different well control training providers work together; any differences between the different well control training providers are identified and discussed.
