Updated eSubmission forms make restoration reporting clearer, more consistent and easier to navigate.

The BC Energy Regulator (BCER) has updated its submission system to improve clarity, consistency and efficiency in site assessment reporting. The changes will help users navigate regulatory requirements, improve data quality and make informed decisions.
The updated online submission portal aligns with the Dormancy and Shutdown Regulation (DSR) and supports the timely restoration of inactive energy sites, helping protect ecosystems and communities.
- This release updates the Restoration Assessment Form which replaces the Certificate of Restoration Part 2 Form. The new Reclamation Declaration Form will allow permit holders to confirm completion of restoration actions in accordance with Section 9 (1)(b) of the DSR.
- These enhancements include dormancy related submissions for facilities and pipelines, as stand-alone submissions or in combination with associated well locations.
The Restoration Assessment Form has been updated to collect meaningful data for the BCER, industry, First Nations and the public. Standardized reporting will improve consistency in the format and content of submissions and allow for more efficient review and tracking of information required to make decisions. It will also provide supporting data for the management of dormant sites, liabilities and surface tenures.
